Over the past seven years I have gone on nearly 1,800 runs and covered almost 11,000 miles. For someone who remembers almost everything, it is surprising how few of those runs I can actually recall. X Brain, Butterfly, Turbo Bumblebee, Black Mamba. If you did not have one of these yo yos in the late 90s, what were you even doing? Fortunately, I managed to acquire all but the Turbo Bumblebee. Looking at eBay now, that may need to change. My middle school was completely overrun by yo yos. Recess was spent walking the dog, building Eiffel Towers, and rocking the baby. As I write this, we are in Revenge of the Sith, and he is impatiently waiting for the origin of the Obi-Wan “hello there” meme. Watching these with him has changed my perspective on the prequels. I used to pick them apart scene by scene, but seeing his excitement has made it easier to just enjoy them.
