Run Your Story Podcast (we, us, or our) operates the website runyourstory.com and the Run Your Story mobile app (together, the Services). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.
Information We Collect
You can browse most of the Services without creating an account. An account is only needed to access the Training area of our website. We collect personal information only when you choose to provide it:
- Account registration: To use the Training area, you create an account with your first name, last name, email address, and a password. Your password is stored in encrypted (hashed) form and is never visible to us.
- Training progress: When you follow a training plan, we save which workouts you have checked off so your progress is there when you return.
- Contact forms: When you submit a form (for example, to be interviewed, partner with us, or ask a question), we collect the name, email address, and any details you provide so we can respond to you.
- Automatic data: Like most websites, our hosting servers may log technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, for security and to keep the Services running. The mobile app does not include third-party advertising or analytics tracking.
How We Use Information
- To create and maintain your Training account and save your training progress.
- To respond to your messages and inquiries.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Services.
- To protect the security and integrity of the Services.
Third-Party Services
The Services display or link to content from third parties whose use is governed by their own privacy policies:
- Buzzsprout hosts and streams our podcast episodes.
- Spreadshop powers our online store and any purchases you make there.
- Patreon handles supporter memberships if you choose to support the show.
- Podcast players and social media such as Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and X, when you follow those links.
We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties.
Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate the Services, or when required by law.
Data Retention
We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Account information and training progress are kept while your account is active and are deleted when you close your account or ask us to delete it. Contact form submissions (your name, email address, and message) are retained for as long as needed to respond to you and to keep a record of our correspondence, and are deleted when they are no longer needed or upon your request. Server log data (such as IP address and browser type) is kept for a limited period for security and troubleshooting, and is then deleted or anonymized. You may request deletion of the personal information you have provided at any time by contacting us at the email below.
Children’s Privacy
The Services are intended for a general audience, are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Your Choices
You may request access to or deletion of the personal information you have provided to us by contacting us at the email below. If you created a Training account, you may request deletion of your account and all associated data — including your training progress — at any time by emailing us, and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a new Last updated date.
