DESCRIPTION:The Tammany Turkey Trot takes to the streets of Covington again on Thanksgiving morning.  Ready to experience the history of downtown Covington\, or show it off to your visiting family and friends?  Here’s your chance to #EarnYourTurkey! \nAthletes will start their Thanksgiving run just north of downtown Covington. From there\, both 5K and 5-mile runners will make their way through downtown and into the splendor of moss-covered trees that line the streets. Close to St. Paul’s High School runners will head slightly west before turning north.  From there\, it’s a return trip for the finish line at the St. Tammany Courthouse! \n5 Mile runners will finish their Turkey “tour” with a scenic jaunt further south past more beautiful homes before rejoining with the 5K course and heading north back to downtown. \nNew in 2023 is a 1 Mile Fun Run option that will start at 7:30am prior to the 5K and 5 Mile Run.

DESCRIPTION:The Publix Battleship 12K\, a patriotic run to honor those who have served\, was started in 2015 as a way to pay tribute to those heroes who defend our freedom. Many Veterans have not received the hero’s welcome that those returning from WWII received\, and it was with this in mind that the event was created. Whether someone deployed to combat or only served a brief time\, every man and woman who has put on the uniform to keep our Country free deserves to be thanked. \nFrom the patriotic opening ceremonies and National Anthem to the spirit on the course\, and finishing at Battleship Memorial Park next to the USS Alabama\, runners and walkers will experience a sense of patriotism rarely felt at an event. Upon entering the park for the homestretch runners are greeted by children handing them small American flags to finish their 12K (7.65 miles) journey. The Pensacola Half Marathon starts at our Maritime park behind the Blue Wahoos stadium overlooking Pensacola Bay. You will loop through the historic North Hill community just before crossing the Bayou Chico bridge capturing marina views of both Bayou Chico and Pensacola bay. Next\, the course takes you to Pensacola’s downtown through our Historic District before returning you back to Maritime Park. DESCRIPTION:July 30th is World Day Against Human Trafficking. Human Trafficking is the fastest growing criminal enterprise in the WORLD. How? You can sell a bag of drugs once\, but sell a child 5 to 8 times a day. \n\n\n\nTo recognize that this is an issue our state and community faces\, we wanted to create an event that helps raise funds for a survivor scholarship. For every $5 that is donated\, we pledge to run/walk a mile. The morning of the 30th we encourage individuals to come out\, runner or not\, as a way to raise awareness and pray for the victims and survivors that face this horrific crime. We plan to kick off the event at 7:30am with praise and worship with our run/walk following around 8am.\n\n\n\nThis event is being hosted by Stopping Traffick and Run Your Story. Whether you want to lace up your running shoes or donate to help raise awareness\, we encourage you to participate in any way you can. Together\, we can make a difference. We can be the change.
